Importance of Muslim Unity  – (A TREATISE ON MUSLIM UNITY)

By uniting the word of the Muslims, their unification is achieved and by that they achieve honour and strength in the earth and with that Islam and faith (iman) increase, because imdn according to Ahl al-Sunnah wa aljamaah is: statement and action,’ it increases with obedience to Allah and it decreases with disobedience to Him.

So working for this purpose is from the greatest acts of obedience. So with it faith (iman) increases in levels and by uniting and bringing the Muslims together co-operation upon all forms of righteousness (al-birr), piety (taqwd) and goodness is achieved. Allah said,

“No good is there in much of their private conversation, except for those who enjoin charity or that which is right or conciliation between people.” [Surah al-Nisa’ 4:114]

And the Prophet said, “Shall I not inform you about chat which is more excellent than fasting, standing in Prayer and charity?” They said, “Of course O Messenger of Allah.” He replied, “Making peace between people, and causing dissension between chem is the shaver‘

And there occurs in a narration, “I do not say it shaves the hair, but it shaves away the Religion.”

So which level is higher than chis level, which increases upon the primary virtuous acts: the Prayer, fasting and charity.

And the Prophet said, “By Allah, you will not enter into Paradise up until you believe. And you will not believe up until you love one another. Shall I not inform you of something that if you do it, you will come to love one another? Spread the greeting of peace (salam) amongst yourselves.”

So he tied entry into Paradise to the existence of faith (iman) and he tied the existence of iman to the achievement of mutual love, which is the cause of unity. And he informed that the cure for this is by the spreading of salam, because the gentleness of speech which involves spreading the salam is from the greatest reasons for that.
