I have made every possible effort to include in this book a discussion of all the major and minor problems of criminal law and leave no doctrine or principle untouched so that my readers may be thoroughly acquainted with the criminal law of Islam in all its aspects and familiarized at the same time, with the similarities and dissimilarities between them.
Another reason for making the study comprehensive as far as possible is to forestall any objection on the part of a skeptical reader to the omission of certain problems while discussing certain others.
However, this study does not cover early phases of modern law; nor does it involve a comparison between the Islamic law and the man-made law which existed in the seventh century; for the latter did not attain that degree of perfection that would warrant its comparison to Islamic Law.
