About the the two writers
Sexual Ethics and Islam: Feminist Reflections on the Qur’an, Hadith, and Jurisprudence is written by Kecia Ali (2006).
She is currently employed at Boston University as an Assistant Professor of Religion.
She has held fellowships at Brandeis University and Harvard Divinity School for research and teaching.
Oliver Leaman is a professor at the University of Kentucky who specializes in Islamic philosophy.
His edited volume, The Qur’an: an Encyclopedia, is his most recent relevant publication (Routledge, 2005).
