Until the present day, it has remained an authoritative compendium of the arguments set forth an explanation of the articles of the Muslim faith.

As a textbook of theology, it has long held a leading place among the scholars attached to the great Muslim University of Al-Azhar in Cairo.

The translation was first made as a part of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the Kennedy School of Missions of the Hartford Seminary Foundation.
