THE FINAL WORDS OF THE SCHOLARS AT THE ONSET OF DEATH

Shaykh al-Salih al-Muqrl, Abu al-Hasan, ‘All ibn Abl ‘Abdullah ibn Abl al-Hasan ibn al-Muqayyir al-Najjar al-Baghdadl, may Allah reward him, informed us whilst itwasread in his presence while wewere listening to him on a Friday,

28th of Jumada-al-Ula in the year 633H in the Masjid al-Jami‘ of Damascus that it was mentioned to him, “Abu al-Ma ‘all, al-Fadl ibn Sahl ibn Bishr ibn Ahmad al-Isfarayml informed you—while granting you the official permission to transmit it—that the jurist, Abu al-Qasim, ‘All ibn Muhammad Al-MisisI2 informed him of having heard the narration of hadlth in the year 486H while they were listening.”

 He said, “I, Abu ‘All, Ahmad ibn ‘Abd alRahman ibn ‘Uthman ibn Abl Nasr recited it in his presence in the month of Sha ban in the year 428H that it was mentioned to him, that ‘Muhammad ibn al-Zabr al-Raba’ I narrated the hadlth in Dhulqadah in 370H that Ibn ‘Umar
