THE BENEFITS OF FEARING

The first benefit

Verily, fearing Allah causes the general affairs of mankind, to become easy.

Allah, the Most High, says,

“…and whosoever has taqwd (fear) of Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make his matter easy for him.” Surah at-Talaq (65): 4.

إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ (4) فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ (5) وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ (6) فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ (7) وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ (8)

(4) Indeed, your efforts are diverse. (5) As for he who gives and fears Allah (6) And believes in the best [reward], (7) We will ease him toward ease. But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need

The second benefit

Taqwa protects mankind from the harm of shaytan.

Allah, the Most High, says,

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا إِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طَائِفٌ مِّنَ الشَّيْطَانِ تَذَكَّرُوا فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْصِرُونَ (201)

“Verily those who have taqwa (fear) of Allah, when an evil thought comes to them from shqytan, they remember (Allah), and indeed they then see (aright).” Surah al-A’raf(7): 201.

The third benefit

Indeed taqwa is also the cause for opening up the blessings from the heaven and the earth for them.

Allah, the Most High, says,

وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُرَىٰ آمَنُوا وَاتَّقَوْا لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَاتٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُوا فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

(96) And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning.”

The forth benefit

Taqwa, causes the servant of Allah to be successful in distinguishing the truth from the falsehood, and to have knowledge of each one of them.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّكُمْ فُرْقَانًا وَيُكَفِّرْ عَنكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ (29)

“O you who believe, if you have taqwa (fear) of Allah, He will give you a Furqan (criterion to judge between right and wrong)…”
