Themain portion of summarizing did not occur in the first draft; onlywhen I was editing the work did I do most of the summarizing, andeven that, only when 1 felt that it was in the best interest of the reader.But for the most part, the book is very similar to its Arabiccounterpart. Whenever felt that the author would not have approvedof an expurgaأ¼on — and authors rarely do, but I’m sure that Islamicauthors do when they know that their readers are of another languageand would appreciate reading material that is written in a style that isappealing in their language — I kept the text as it is in Arabic.That is how I went about translating Shaykh Mustafأ¥ as-Sibأ¥’ee’s work. If I was correct in places, then that is from Allahand if I erred on occasions, then that is from me and from the
